I'm Nick English and thank you for visiting my wedding photography website!
As you have probably worked out by now, I am a UK based wedding photographer who photographs weddings in a relaxed, unobtrusive style - and I like my photographs to tell the story of your wedding day, without taking over your day.
When Im not photographing weddings, my favourite things in life are travel, seeing and experiencing new things. I love music, and countryside walks.
We have just had a baby boy called Zack (below) who is now 8 weeks old as I write this in September 2017!
He is the most amazing thing I have ever seen and I love him to bits! He loves to watch me edit wedding photos, and I think he could possibly be the most photographed baby in the world!
My Wedding Photography Approach...
I like my photographs to tell a story…
For the majority of the day, I like to blend in as a guest, taking photographs of events that happen before me, without interfering. I feel this is the best way to photograph a wedding, allowing yourselves and your guests to enjoy the day without it feeling like a photoshoot.
I believe the best photographs come from the natural, genuine moments throughout a wedding day and I work hard to position myself to be ready to capture these moments. Posing for a photograph has never been my thing and I much prefer an in-the-moment photograph over a posed one.
The part of the day most couples dread is the family photographs. Everyone has been to a wedding where the drinks reception is all about the family photos - and it lasts forever, just standing around. My approach is very much the opposite, I like this to take no more than 5-10 minutes, and have a strategy to ensure we get the photos you want, in as little time as possible - so you get more time to enjoy your wedding (this is usually the best time of the day) rather than standing around.
I then ask for another 5 minutes with you to go for a walk around your wedding venue. Nothing awkward, no cheesy poses, no clichéd wedding photographs that make you cringe… just you two for 5 minutes being yourselves. This is another part of the day that most couples dread - it is my job to make this as much fun as possible and I promise I wont ask you to smile for the camera. Sometimes when the light is perfect, I may ask you for another 5 minutes much later on in the day for some sunset photos - usually after the speeches in the evening.
I have photographed weddings across the UK and abroad with destination weddings in Italy, Slovenia, France and Greece. I am always happy to travel.
I photograph weddings all over the UK. I was nominated for The Wedding Industry Awards in 2016 where I was a regional finalist for the UKs best wedding photographer.
My style can be described as relaxed, documentary, informal, romantic.
In order to put 110% into every wedding I photograph, I only take on a limited number of wedding photography bookings each year. Please get in touch either via the contact form, or directly through email at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell me about your wedding!
