ABOUT ME & MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE
I'm Nick English and thank you for visiting my wedding photography website!
As you have probably worked out by now, I am a wedding photographer who photographs weddings in a relaxed, unobtrusive style - and I like my photographs to tell the story of your wedding day, without taking over your day.
When Im not photographing weddings, my favourite things in life are travel and everything that goes with visiting a different coutry/culture.
I also love Scandanavian rock and metal music, trying new food and cooking (although I'm pretty terrible at it), fast cars, black and white photography - especially old street photography from years ago, and I have a slight obsession with pretty much anything technology related. Whether it be new cameras, computers or speakers.
I recently visited Tokyo for a week, which was absolutely fascinating and somewhere I would love to go back to one day. Never before have I been so lost and confused as to what was going on around me, but it was fantastic experience. If you've ever seen "Lost in Translation" that film sums up exactly what it is really like to be there - except I didn't end up with Scarlett Johansson, nevermind, maybe next time.
I like my photographs to tell a story – and I try to tell a story through my photographs every single time I pick up my camera.
I take photographs of what I feel is important to you and your wedding day.
Whether that be your wedding guests, your wedding venue itself, your friends and family catching up and having a good old chin wag, that look on your grooms face as he stands at the top of the aisle waiting for his first look at his beautiful bride, the proud look from Dad as he watches from the front row of the congregation, the laughter and tears at the speeches, natural un-posed photos of you together enjoying a moment to yourselves (usually the only time on your wedding day you will actually get to spend 5 minutes together!)
These are the real moments from your wedding. This is your story, and I love to tell it through my photographs.
I have photographed weddings across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cheshire, The Lake District, North-Wales, London and further afield, and I am always happy to travel. Although I am based in Preston, I photograph weddings all over the UK. I was nominated for The Wedding Industry Awards in 2015 where I was a regional finalist for the UKs best wedding photographer.
My style can be described as relaxed, documentary, informal, romantic.
A wedding isn’t just one or two photographs of you together smiling at a camera, or a photo of you signing the register etc - these photos dont tell a story. My wedding photography can’t be shown by just one or two photographs, I like to build a story which takes you through the day as it REALLY happened, not stopping for the photographs, your wedding day photographed as I saw it.
For the majority of the day, I like to blend in as a guest, taking photographs of events that happen before me, without interfering.
Every wedding is totally unique, but at some point I will ask you to come for a walk with me around your wedding venue, usually when the light is just right, for some photographs of you together. Nothing posed or staged, simply a walk - where you get to be yourselves for 5 or 10 minutes, and enjoy a moment away from your guests for a little alone time.
In order to put 110% into every wedding I photograph, I only take on a limited number of wedding photography bookings each year. Please get in touch either via the contact form, or directly through email at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell me about your wedding!
