Ribble Valley Lancashire Wedding Venue

I love photographing weddings at The Shireburn Arms. Although all the James Places venues are very special, there is something magical about The Shireburn Arms. Maybe it’s the fact of its fascinating history, that one of my favourite authors J.R.R Tolkien wrote his world-famous books “The Lord of The Rings” just up the road, in Stoneyhurst College during the Second World War – and there are many references in the film to the area, such as “The Shire” which needs no explanation!

The Shireburn Arms is a lovely venue, with vast open views to the rear over-looking the Ribble Valley. Maybe a bit geeky, but as a Lancashire Wedding Photographer I can honestly say that photographing weddings in the ballroom offers some of the best light I have ever seen at any venue I have ever worked at! The room is so bright and airy – whatever the weather – just see the photos below taken during the wedding ceremony to see what I’m talking about – that is perfect photography light right there!

Vicky & Jim also had some amazing weather on their wedding day – and on the sun terrace at the back of The Shireburn Arms, there aren’t many places better to be when the sun is out! We all spent the majority of the day outside, enjoying the sunshine and fresh Ribble Valley air and views, it really was a day I wont forget as a wedding photographer, and I’m pretty sure Vicky & Jim rather enjoyed it too!
