Lake Bled in Slovenia is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and when Nicole and Ben told me about their destination wedding at Lake Bled I was as excited about it as they were!
Lake Bled Slovenia Destination Wedding
They told me how Lake Bled was their favourite place, their happy place and somewhere they knew they had always wanted to get married at. I had first met Nicole a few years earlier as she was a bridesmaid at a wedding I had photographed in the UK - she liked my natural, non-posed approach and wanted the same informal relaxed wedding photographs for her Lake Bled destination wedding.
The ceremony took place at Vila Bled, a beautiful wedding venue overlooking Lake Bled - oozing with history, previously the former Yugoslavian President Tito's summer house, where he used to enjoy spending time around the beautiful crystal blue lake. Now a wedding venue, Vila Bled is a stunning location to get married - with the lake just footsteps away. Nicole and Ben enjoyed their meal and speeches outdoors overlooking the lake - truly one of the most amazing settings I have ever seen.
Natural, Informal Destination Wedding Photography
We ventured out onto Lake Bled in a two rowing boats - one for the Bride and Groom - and the other for myself and the videographer - where we took it in turns to row and take pictures / video as we crossed Lake Bled. Later, we headed up Bled Castle at Sunset for some stunning photographs overlooking the lake at golden hour - the best time of day for photographs!
