Shelby & Ben’s Relaxed Marquee Wedding in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire
Some weddings are all about doing things your own way, and Shelby and Ben’s incredible marquee wedding near Clitheroe and Whitewell was exactly that. Set in the middle of the beautiful Ribble Valley countryside, at Ben’s dad’s house and farm, this was a wonderfully relaxed, personal celebration with a proper garden party atmosphere.
Although originally from the UK, Shelby and Ben now live in Canada, so it was brilliant to see friends and family travelling from home, Canada and the US to celebrate together. Canadian flags and themed touches were dotted throughout the day, adding a personal twist to an already fantastic setting. With a cocktail van, delicious hog roast and a heartfelt ceremony led by a family friend, everything felt genuinely personal, informal and full of character.
As a Clitheroe Ribble Valley wedding photographer, these are exactly the kind of weddings I love photographing. Shelby and Ben were both effortlessly relaxed, looking absolutely brilliant and completely comfortable just being themselves. There was no pressure to pose or follow a rigid schedule — just good people, plenty of laughter and a beautiful countryside setting to enjoy. It was the perfect opportunity for natural, documentary-style wedding photography, capturing all the little moments that make a wedding day unique.
