July brought one of those glorious Lancashire summer days that you hope for when planning an outdoor wedding, and Adam and Becca’s wedding at Wennington Hall near Lancaster made the absolute most of it. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a brilliant day. Becca looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, while Adam’s love of cars was very much on display, with his mates and their seriously impressive cars all gathered at the hall.
This was particularly special for me as it was my first outdoor wedding at Wennington Hall, and what a way to experience it. With blue skies overhead and the whole day unfolding outside, guests could relax, enjoy a few drinks and simply soak up the atmosphere. Wennington Hall is an incredible backdrop for wedding photography, with its historic architecture, beautiful grounds and surrounding Lancashire countryside, and on a sunny July day it looked spectacular. The combination of the old building, summer sunshine and a fantastic group of people made for some seriously memorable photographs.
The cars naturally became a big part of the day too, with Adam and his friends proudly showing them off in the sunshine. Alongside those photographs were all the things I love about a relaxed wedding – laughter, drinks, hugs, plenty of spontaneous moments and friends and family enjoying themselves without worrying about the camera. There was a brilliant energy throughout the whole day, with the sound of laughter and conversation seemingly echoing around the old walls of Wennington Hall.
I also took the opportunity to get the drone up for some aerial wedding photographs at Wennington Hall, and there are a few absolute favourites in the gallery below. Seeing the whole setting from above really shows just how impressive this wedding venue is and how much space there is to enjoy outside. Adam and Becca’s wedding was one of those days where everything just came together: amazing weather, a beautiful venue, great cars, plenty of laughter and two people surrounded by everyone they love. A day that I'm sure everyone who was there will remember for a very long time.
